Can I use these mods?

Chaos_Kitty_768

Question

I would like to use these mods, can they be safely included into the SR:LE list without any conflict, or are there special modifications I would have to do in order to have them in it?

Khajiit Speak: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14513/? (I only use this when I use my Khajiit playthrough, is there a way that I would be able to activate and deactivate it when switching characters without causing issue?)

Glowing Arrows v2: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/5811/?

Glowing Arrows v2 - Patch Collection All in One: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/77116/?

Same Walk and Run Speeds: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/9553/?

Glowing Ore Veins 300: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/193/?

Aemer's Refuge: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37450/?

I am on my 3rd reinstall of this guide after discovering errors I had made previously. I hope that this time I have done it correctly so that I can actually play the game...

On my first, I got to the testing stage, started creating my character in RaceMenu, and froze twice. No CTD, just freeze. I was drunk, it made me mad, so i cleared EVERYTHING. :( :(

For this one, I have followed the guide religiously (and sober) so I hope to have my permanent mod list this time. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

You are using crash fixes with the preloader? UseOSAllocators=1?

I think that crash can be caused by memory fragmentation. You need the new Crash Fixes 12 beta 4. Set it up the same way, but there are settings for memory blocks and an allocation log. If you check the posts section, on the first page or a page or two back there is a good explanation of how to set up the memory allocation blocks to reduce fragmentation. Should get rid of that crash.

On mobile atm, so it would be a pain for me to try and look up to quote.

If you can't find the info or get it working let me know and I will post more info this afternoon.

For Khajiit Speak, to keep it separate from your other mods, you can make a new profile.

Click the profile name at the top. Go to manage profiles, then copy your SR:LE profile. Check the local saves checkbox. Call it something like SR:LE Khajiit. Then install the mod in the new profile. It will have separate saves and won't conflict with your main SR:LE profile.

As to whether it will work properly or not...I have no idea. You would have to check in xEdit to see what the conflicts are.

Or if you want to do it caveman style trial and error!

Psssshhhhhh. That is for people who play the game.

I just mod the game! At least it seems that way sometimes, lol. :-D

I got like 12 hours into F:NV in about 8 months of serious modding. I also came to despise carriages and helgen until I finally realized what LAL did.

I was thinking about the separated profile, do I just re-run the stuff in Author's Recommended Fixes section?

Believe me, I tried the caveman style trial and error, I ended up with a lvl 40 unplayable save. Lol!

Ouch! Yeah I never got far enough to have that problem but my condolences.

A brother in arms! My modding to playing ratio is a tad higher, but it does feel ridiculous sometimes.

At least I can take some solace in the fact that I am not the only insane one around here! ;-)

Edit: If you copy the profile (not "new' but "copy") it should keep everything. Should even copy the INI files.

Yeah, that was another rage-erase time... I used the STEP Guide for my next trial (awesome and super stable, BTW), I just wanted... more... and found Neovalen's guide. And have proceeded to work on it for the past 6 days. While dreaming of dragon blood covering my character during the nights.

When you get started modding following a guide you never appreciate how much time it takes to do it half way correctly. One Afternoon turns into a holiday weekend turns in a week turns into a fortnight. Until you've been doing it for months and you realize that the game ctds every 20 minutes and you don't know why and yet you still download an extra dungeon because you still want you're next hit. Even though at the rate you're going you wont get to that cave until 2025! Edited by Van555

Ok... So, I haven't downloaded my extra mods yet, but I am back to the conflict resolution part of the guide... Should I go ahead and create my other profile and download them prior to doing all of the major patches and fixes? IE: conflict resolution, DynDOLOD and TexGen patches, bashed patch, etc.
