Not sure where to ask this. About patches/compilation.

OK, first, I am at the point where you add Hearthfires Extended, so not many more mods to go.  But this process, outside of adding these mods, is not clear to me.  I have added a few mods that were on the list, specifically Falskaar, Wyrmstooth, Bijin (everything), and added the grass on steroids type patch on the Skyrim Flora Overhaul page, so that I can save some frames.  A few times I also went with the more performance version of a mod when I felt I wouldn't miss the added detail.  I have also left out just a few Core mods where I knew I would not need them, and have added most of the extended, non-Core Mods on the 2.2.9.2 page.

So once I add the last mod, I am totally confused as to what I am supposed to do.  Do I just run things such as Loot, Wrye Bash, DynDOLOD, etc?  I keep seeing things about patches, but really don't understand what I should use, or not use. For instance, on the detailed instructions for Hearthfires, it says if you are not using the STEP Patches (now included in the STEP Compilation), also install the Cutting Room Floor patch optional file.  OK, I have no idea if I should be using the patches...and if I am going to, do I just use the STEP Compilation?  I looked at the size of it and it is huge.  Is this compilation meant to be used instead of downloading the mods individually, or do you use it on top of the mods listed in 2.2.9.2?

You use and install the compilation where it's listed. It has a "compilation" of mods we've combined so the user wouldn't have to download them individually.

Once you get to section N, nearly all you're doing is patching and other work. Use the STEP Patches we provide. They provide compatibility between the mods in STEP.
