  1. Discussion topic: Scrambled Bugs by KernalsEgg Wiki Link This mod introduces engine bug fixes. Some are integrated in the current SE guide, but some aren't too. What I'm more interested at, is the 2nd enchantment effect bug fix. Also, the perk entry point bug where if you 2 apply-on-hit effects only 1 will work, this fixes it. It's against the guidelines to repeat the mod description, but please take a look at the mod page and check out the things it fixes.
  2. Discussion topic: Battle-Ready Candlelight Fixes by ThatSpartacusGuy Wiki Link This mod does what 1st Person Candlelight Fixes does and also removes the particle glow and adjusts the candle placement, which are both arguably fixes, too. Need someone to test out in game and provide screens compares against Step default.
  3. Discussion topic: Iconic's Bust Of The Gray Fox Retexture by IconicDeath Wiki Link Step (vanilla) > Iconic's (no diffuse) > Full Iconic's The lighting is bad so I used a torch, but this is only used twice in the game so this is what you get. However, author's like to use it as decoration so it often pops up elsewhere.
  4. Discussion topic: FIZZLE by dAb Wiki Link This mod would seem prudent if we pick up any of the relevant mods that distribute spells to NPCs. It also keeps the PC in check. Most likely will have some compatibility issues with some of the other related mods, so patching may be necessary. Come to think of it, this mod may be redundant with these mods as well: Spell perk Item Distributor Odin Enemy (R)Evolution
  5. Discussion topic: Detailing the Eldrich by ObsidianStag/rickard Wiki Link
  6. Discussion topic: Enemy (R)Evolution of Skyrim by Mangekyoumadara1987 Wiki Link This is a mod...more patcher...that helps distribute mod-addon perks, spells, and more to NPCs at game start.
  7. This is a new mod I just stumbled upon, by accident. I haven't tried it yet, I just got my new monitor and I haven't finished modding my SSE yet. I do not know about the impact performance on low end machines either. I'm posting it here for people to try, and maybe, eventually, submit a STEP proposal to be included in the guide, if it's aesthetically pleasing and within the mandate of S.T.E.P., of course. 🙂 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/40255
  8. Discussion topic: 3D Junipers - Trees and Berries by wSkeever Wiki Link Vanilla > Step > 3D Junipers Vanilla > Step > 3D Junipers
  9. Discussion topic: Spell Perk Item Distributor xEdit Scripts by konkeranto Wiki Link It might be worth checking this out while testing Spell perk Item Distributor.
  10. Hello, I'm playing using this mod (Warzones - Civil Unrest): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2360 It adds plethora of combative NPCs. Unfortunately, it also adds some objects like tents and burned debris. Can I delete those objects using SSEEdit? If so, how? Do I just need to delete ALL WZ records in the Worldspace category? Thank you.

  12. Discussion topic: XP32 Maximum Skeleton SE - Fixed Scripts by foreverphoenix Wiki Link
  13. Discussion topic: Simple Offence Suppression by powerofthree Wiki Link Fixes the accidental hits to friendlies and neutrals during combat. Ya'know...when those vamps attack the town and you try to help the guards, but you hit the guards by accident and land in jail...or dead. This fixes that mess...just don't keep hitting them.
  14. Discussion topic: Gold Septim - Coins Retex by Master85/checco85 Mod Picker Link
  15. Discussion topic: No Grass in Objects by meh321 Prevents grass clipping through most objects. Mod performs a raycast in-game from each position where grass is located and if it detects a collision with another object then it doesn't place grass at that point. Needs .Net framework but that's already a requirement for MO2. OCD sufferers rejoice!
  16. Discussion topic: Lore-Friendly Race Heights by MrChipster31 Wiki Link Thoughts on this? It would be incorporated into the Patches.
  17. Discussion topic: Spell Perk Item Distributor by powerofthree Wiki Link A helper resource for modders which allows them to support files for distributing mod-added perks, spells, etc. to NPCs at game start.
  18. Discussion topic: Vokrii - Minimalistic Perks of Skyrim by EnaiSiaion Wiki Link CACO patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26375 CCOR patch: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/19518 Other useful patches: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26278 This is another mod in this author's "vanilla plus" series that is made to work well with Odin. It would cover the perk side of users asking for magic, perks, and more skills. I'm even more curious as to what everyone thinks of this mod than Odin because I'm not completely familiar with all the perk trees. I've had a good read over this mod page and compared it to our Mandate, like Odin, nothing seems out of place. The perk trees that I am familiar with seem to be well overhauled to allow for specific builds. This means players are less likely to be forced to pick unless perks simply because they're an obstacle to a perk that is desired. In this way, related perks seem to be along the same "branch" so all the previous perks would still benefit the player. The perk altering mods we already have in the SE Guide do this same rearranging of the trees they affect, so adding Vokrii would be like expanding this same effect to all perk trees. Vokrii is probably one of the best fits for the Guide that I've seen in a while, but more opinions are needed. As for compatibility, it has all the patches that we'd need already available, and most of those could probably be incorporated into the CR Patches. This mod, like Odin, would like become a hard requirement for the Guide.
  19. Discussion topic: Odin - Skyrim Magic Overhaul by EnaiSiaion Wiki Link Helpful patches: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/46445 I'm curious as to what everyone thinks of this mod. Some things users have asked for repeatedly are overhauls for magic, perks, and more skills. We've repeatedly responded with, "we haven't found one that fits Step". Well, I've had a good read over this mod page and compared it to our Mandate. The page had me smiling at points, which meant it aligned with what I would expect something like this to be done for an "enhanced vanilla". This one seems to fit the bill for magic. It... ... provides bug fixes and corrections to malfunctioning aspects of the vanilla magic features/items. ... provides HD asset replacements in the style of the vanilla game. (from looking at the shots) ... improves existing magic content within consistency of the vanilla game. ... its new content is consistent with the game's style and lore, and isn't overpowered. (from what I can tell from reading) ... it's not only geared toward a specific user base. (affects all magic schools equally and consistently) As for mod compatibility, users should remember that Step isn't as concerned with "down the line" compatibility since the Guides are now meant as complete solutions. However, we're not oblivious to the fact users will still install additional mods on top of the Guides. With that in mind, Odin is actually very compatible with other magic overhaul mods that aren't included in the SE Guide due to the Mandate. I did have a look in xEdit to preview compatibility with the current SE mod list, and it seems to need minimal patching. Since we don't have many mods that alter these areas of the game, Odin's main conflict within our mod list is with USSEP, which it should be overwriting anyway. So a bit of patching for Elemental Staffs, CACO, and a few others. Really easy and lightweight, but will probably require becoming a master of the CR Patch; meaning users won't have the option of not installing Odin in their mod lists. With the Guides being complete solutions now, those things shouldn't matter as much, but old habits die hard. I just wanted to put that fact out there.
  20. Discussion topic: Iconic's Remastered Paragon Gems Retexture by Iconic Wiki Link
  21. I believe this mod could be a better alternative to Just Ice in the STEP Guide since it provides textures to glaciers/ice on both DLC's for a more consistent look overall and LOD files are also avaible. I haven't had the time to test it but I think the mod is worth a look: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/41432?tab=description
  22. Discussion topic: High Quality Tintmasks for Vanilla NPCs by Shiva182 Wiki Link STEP SE Notes: Recommended by Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures. Install as shown in that mod's OP.
  23. Discussion topic: Cleaned Skyrim SE Textures by Kartoffels Wiki Link STEP SE Notes: Confirmed that some new artifacts are introduced due to batch processing and that the mod is packaged in a way that utilizes base game files in a non-standard way for modding. There is probably little reason not to include this mod. It should probably be tested against SE vanilla textures, though. For example, the plants and grass aren't very good because the mix of LE shadowing on the texture with SE lighting isn't good. I'm sure that is why Bethesda removed the shadows from these textures for SE. For that reason some more testing should be done. This mod is associated with the following and should be tested independently but with those other mods in consideration: Skyrim Special Edition Upscaled Textures (SSEUT) High Quality Tintmasks for Vanilla NPCs Quality CubeMaps - HD Cube Maps I am placing this and all dependencies noted above in my MO mod list as: Vanilla > CSSET Upon closer inspection, it's a hard sell whether or not to include the mod. Some textures are improved by removing artifacts from the BC1 compression and a bit of sharpness increase. It also looks like some of the grass shadowing has been fixed. However, on the other hand some issues are introduced such as: lost detail in tree mipmaps without any noticeable improved in closeup detail, shadowing on plants, and jaggies in some of the landscape textures. Then there are other textures that there is no noticeable difference until you really get down to the (still blurry) details.
