What were the recommend settings for NVSR on Windows 10?
GopherEverett replied to ZidanReign's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I'm not familiar with the specifics, but I did see a thread regarding NVSR settings for Windows 10 on the FNV subreddit the other day. https://www.reddit.com/r/fnv/comments/8g6sa2/nvsr_new_vegas_stutter_remover_works_flawlessly/ -

Quick qustion about texture optimization
GopherEverett replied to GopherEverett's question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I've got a few more questions if anyone can help out. This time about installing the optimized versions of texture mods. Do I install the optimized archives into the folder of the original mod or in a new folder? I'm assuming if it's a new folder, I just put it immediately after the original in the left window? If I do that, some of the original mods get a grey lightining bolt saying redundant. Do I uncheck those? Do I uncheck all of the originals? Finally, I optimized the textures for Weapons of the New Milennia, but when I go to install that archive it runs an installer that I didn't see the first time round. The guide mentions that the fomod for that mod doesnt work with mod organizer so I don't know what to to. As always, thanks for all the help. -

Thanks. While I've got you, I noticed a small typo in the Weapons of the New Millenia section. It says, "Click the arrow next to "Optional Store" and highlight "Sound, meshes, textures" and drag them to "". It is supposed to say "<data>" at the end. The installation video shows it correctly. And thanks for the mod recommendation. I wish I'd known about it a couple of hours ago, but at least I learned something :) -
Quick qustion about texture optimization
GopherEverett posted a question in Guide Support & Bug Reports
I just finished optimizing vanilla textures, and I used batch file to create the archives (FalloutNV textures opt, HonestHearts textures opt, etc.) I've moved those archives into Mod Manager's downloads folder and I think I'm supposed to just install them like normal mods? After they're installed do I put them above all the other mods in the left window? Or will it not matter once I have optimized the mod textures? -
Thanks for the quick answer.

GopherEverett started following Advanced Recon Merge
-
In the list of ESPs to be merged for the Advanced Recon Merged patch, Advanced Recon Tech.esp is not included. Later that esp is moved to the optional ESPs for Advanced Recon Thermal Nightvision. Just wanted to be sure the guide is correct before I continue.
-
Thanks. I did need to move the file as it turned out.

The guide mentions that if ENB isn't working properly to move the d3d9.dll to exes folder created by the 4gb launcher. I have an exes folder in my install directory, but things seem to work fine without moving d3d9.dll. How would I know if ENB isn't working? Would it be obvious? I just followed the guide, so as I understand it, I'm not using the post processing effects of ENB just ENBoost. I just want to be sure that I have things setup correctly.

Plasma Defender sound
GopherEverett replied to GopherEverett's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
I definitely used the generate bashed tags script. On every mod individually too, although it's possible I missed one I guess. Please don't feel the need to devote too much energy to this. I have no idea what compelled me to stick with NMM, but it was what I was familiar with. Halfway through the guide I realized I should've just used MO, but I decided to see it through. Is there somwhere specific I could look in FNVedit just to verify what's going on? If I look at the listing for Plasma Defender under weapons and then under Sound - Gun, the bashed patch seems to be using the entries from EVE FNV -All DLC.esp and overwriting the WeaponModsExpanded.esp. I will freely admit I have only the vaguest idea of what I'm looking at though. -
Plasma Defender sound
GopherEverett replied to GopherEverett's topic in Fear & Loathing in New Vegas
Ok. Thanks for the reply. I did follow the guide for creating the bashed patch, and wrye flash had instrcutions for using the bashed patch with NMM, but I don't know enough to say whether that still causes problems or not. In any case, thats the only real problem I've noticed so I'm not going to worry about it unless I encounter something more gamebreaking. Thanks for the help, and for all your work on the guide. -
When I fire the Plasma Defender it switches back and forth between a loud sound and a quiet sound. As far as I can tell, the quiet one is wpn_plasmadefender_fire_3d_dist_01 included in the improved sounds mod. I followed the guide pretty closely, but I used Nexus Mod Manager like a scrub. Any help would be appreciated.
