  1. Ah okay my bad! Looks great actually! Seems like you have thought about it quite a bit! So I will stop pestering you with it! :)
  2. What he means is partly true. Sounds are loaded in the same data as the weather... for some odd reason. The entry called regions under tes5edit. If all the weathers, and sounds are not all loaded into these then something will end up not showing ingame unless you force it.
  3. Well he is right in that... you need to go into tes5edit and manually move the region entries from the non ESS patches into them in order for it to work as it should. But since you do not like to do that sort of thing, you are going to have to live without it! :P
  4. Yes it looks fine.
  5. Hey if you end up with more fungi looking stuff and less grass then I am all for it! :D (I know about fungi... worked genetic engineering on some in a lab.) But yeah as long as there is not grass everywhere. Think iceland... there is grass, but in the rocky volcanic regions its mainly moulds, and other resilient type flora that prevails. Also I noticed that leaves patch on the ground... in the middle of a pine forest, kinda stands out a little bit when there are leaves of trees that are no where near the region! And hey since its a fantasy game then I guess some oblivion type like flora would also be cool! But ofc. I can understand if you do not want to create fantasy plants from the ground up! :)
  6. Reduce the quality parameters to low ingame. Press save and apply. That should give you another few FPS in the exteriors. Other then that, then reduce grass amounts which can provide large amounts of FPS depending on settings. You can also try to disable skylighting...see if you like the intensity of the shadows, and if you do just play without it.
  7. If you use those they would just need to be down with everything else, and they will work fine as well.
  8. Last I checked Iceland, then during a volcanic eruption then the constant ash falls would kill anything since it blocks out the sun most of the time. ;) (I recall there is a large volcano spewing out stuff in the distance. Also the vanilla weathers have almost not a single sunny day on most of the ash fields. ) Once the eruption is gone and sunlight gets in then yeah... you are right! But yeah realism to a degree... or the entire area would just be dead and boring!
  9. Place them like this (After you have run BOSS so EVERYTHING else is where it should be! ) If it is in this order.... everything is fine and should work out of the box. SoS - The Dungeons.esp SoS - The Wilds.esp SoS - Civilization.esp ClimatesOfTamriel-Sound.esp SoS - The Wilds-PatchCoTSounds.esp SoS - Civilization -PatchCoTSounds.esp ANY other SOS or CoT patch their relative order should not matter! For example if you are using ANY lighting overhaul the patches need to be placed here! Also only use these patches if you are using CoT sounds... if you are not, then you need to make a patch yourself to make sure that you do not just get vanilla weathers everywhere. As I recall.
  10. Volcanic ash lands kinda tend not to be that fertile :P Not saying it does not look good, but guess the area kinda need something more exotic then your every day flora out in the garden.... as it would be dead.
  11. Try to disable ENB first when in situations like this.
  12. You know I normally say the text is too large if I can read it without glasses :D (-7ish on both eyes! ) (I always forget if its + or -... the one where ya cant read a book! :P ) But yeah back to topic! :D
  13. I can only just imagine what Boris will say if you report it on his forums hehehe. Also is this with or without SLI enabled :P (Seems to be a reoccurring issue with you :P ) Since that would always be my first suggestion.
  14. Not that I know off. I normally test at markarth exterior since it has lots of grey ruins with lots of nicks and other meshes that make it ideal for both flickering and type tests. At least its the best place I have found. Guess some snowy regions would also provide ideal testing grounds.
  15. Just having a "Look here" for detailed information is a godsend for helping out and moderation! Hence why I made my "guide" on how to identify individual missing textures.... it just does get tedious to repeat yourself over and over. The first few times you optimize your responses, but at some point it would just be easier to say. Especially like if what you need the user to do is somewhat technical! (Like finding individual textures actually is!) This is also another reason why I am looking with interest on how you setup shop... so to speak. I do not think I have the most efficient way of helping out people in all cases, and I like the way this is starting to look as a source of inspiration!
  16. ELFX has a more cinematic then realistic approach to the lighting... this is the main reason why I like it, since I think RLO gets too dark. I love a dark dungeon as much as the next person, but I also want this to be a game I can play... hence I do not mind a bit of unrealistic lighting as long as it looks great, and nothing is pitch black. Saturation levels are always subjective.... some like so much saturation that the game almost looks like titles like WoW or other cartoon like designs where it is required. My biggest complaint about ELFX is that some light sources are too intense... the skylight when you enter Dragonsreach is, and the skylight in the kitchen of it are prime examples.
  17. The cleaning process itself should not really help much with stability... since it just removes redundant information! But depending on mod list then it all adds up in the end, so perhaps over 100 mods there is a slight improvement.
  18. It makes sense that is what cause it..... essentially it was either that or some perk changing mod... hence why I said SkyUI might be the cause! I just forgot what the name of the specific files where etc! Anyways, glad to see you found a solution that we can learn from! Marking as solved!
  19. I understood it as you wanted to optimize everything after you installed it... and that is a bad idea that will most likely ruin something! Since I only do manual ddsopting, then I will leave this in the hands of the experts who have actually used the batch files!
  20. One thing is what the goal of the lighting mod is... another is if it is done.. and none of them are finished entirely! Also altering the color via ENB is only a partial solution, since the color setting in the CK puts limits on how much you can alter the color without messing up something else, since you only have curve and desaturation to play with color wise. And curve alter the luminosity of the pixel as a means to alter the color. Luckily most light bulbs have their own entry in Tes5edit so you can alter the colors of them easily. As for the SSAO then K ENB series have the most high quality AO around with the largest impact on performance as a result. But other then that then you can play around with the settings until you are happy. Outside the gate of Markarth is a good place to test AO.
  21. Well if you are up for it you could find the perk entries in TES5edit and see what mods affect them. If you search for the name of the perk in the editor ID then you should get them eventually.
  22. Very nice post... (Continually amazed by the time you must be spending on it! Oh and your layout is getting better by the day! :) ) I agree with what you are saying, and it does make perfect sense! I am biased in that I have been doing this for a while now, and have learned it the hard way. But others are not that (un)fortunate. Also looking forward to see what you figure out in terms of setting up specialized MO help, since as it is now all we say in the help is essentially... (Use MO because it is easier and better!). And then have people coming in the next day when they fail to getting BUM working since they fail in linking to the correct .exe.
  23. If you do it that way, then I can already now suggest my "wonderful" guide on how to identify missing textures, or mis-optimized textures etc. in the support section! :)
  24. I know STEP:Core only deals in vanilla settings, but with ENBoost ... then that kinda upsets the balance... My game uses 8Gb between the skyrim process and the enbhost... and I only have 2Gb VRAM. This is the setting I have found works best for me. But my point is.. if people want to play with high res textures, then they kinda need ENBoost..and in that case more system memory is also a good thing! But if they just need to play with the STEP:Core baseline suggestion and 1k textures then ofc. they do no need to consider this at all! And 6Gb would be a good minimum. Even though I always suggest either 8, 16 or 32Gb.... not those weird half amounts. Edit: Up to 8Gb it uses... it ofc depends on location etc. 8 is the max I have recorded...
  25. Okay that is a new one! :) Skill Interface Retexture only includes textures, so it cannot be responsible for what is written. SkyUI could do it.. Bashed patch should not touch the entries related to skill tree descriptions. So my guess would be one mod needs a reinstall, or its some weird SkyUI, SKSE thing going on.
