  1. Looks like my kitchen knife... sorta....okay it does not! But it is a giant sometimes glowing knife! Guess I should try to find some better vanilla replacers that are not as dull looking.
  2. The control panel settings, are more for the broad general settings. I in general never use those features, since most often they are rather conservative. I can live with a small FPS drop if it means increasing something else. Also the point that have already been made, is that it is for a purely unmodded skyrim alone. About performance vs quality in general, then start by using performance. You can always upgrade textures, settings etc. if you got the FPS to spare.
  3. Ah thanks for clarifying aLaaa..... my head had messed up adaptive and dynamic in that regard. Looking at it more closely I can see that they do stuff a bit differently. Guess most people are just going to notice the obvious differences, like hearing rain while inside. Rather then the subtle lighting changes depending on weather. But once you know what to look for! As for the script loading. This is always going to be an issue. Any mod is always going to say that their scripts are light, etc, and it is most often also true. However sadly when used in conjunction with script heavy mod lists, any added script adds to the probability of issues. Hence even simple script mods like "Auto unequip ammo" will do so. This does not mean that anything bad will absolutely happen using it, but once stacked on top of a thousand others it might just be the proverbial drop.
  4. Both ELFX and RLO in conjunction with CoT has it, hence I would think they would also have it with other weather mods, but I might be wrong! I am unsure if Relighting Skyrim has it as well....
  5. Now with 100% more canine!
  6. Ah yes that would also do it! Good catch, need to remember to mention that as a cause as well in the future!
  7. The preset is essentially just the RGB values for the lanterns.... if that can cause CTD´s. Yeah that just does not make sense to me. Any shaders that are disabled should be just that, they should not be able to affect the game. Cannot rule it out ofc. but if it was a general issue then everybody would have the issue. Fairly certain it is mod related to some extent... more testing to be done!
  8. Still only on v.2.3 MCM version... might be why. I provide my own preset for it.
  9. Yeah clouds shadows.... In the process of overhauling my ambient lighting to to make it work properly. God damn Boris and his awesome features! Diannetea: Anyways... Well if you find out what it is that cause a CTD I would be really happy to know it. It kinda annoys me. Since it just does not make sense to me if you can run any other ENB with the same binary, but not mine.... since mine does not add anything that can do that sort of thing... to my knowledge anyways. Also let me know if altering the load order fixes the black interiors. Since that is almost certainly the case! Since if the image spaces are not ELE then some will be quite dark. Partly because I disable the shader that makes them brighter... partly because.... well that is it. Load order is vital!
  10. It is one of the F buttons that brings up the details of the site... my daughter hits it all the time. Forgot which one specifically though. :S
  11. Ah yeah okay that makes sense. But hmmm that mod works flawlessly on my end. Never had issues with that. So sadly that does not bring me any closer to figuring out why it would cause any CTD. There is nothing in my preset that is radically different from any other preset that can use the latest binary version. Only odd reason I can think of is that since I do not include an enblocal.ini then you get a CTD due to the default values not working for ya. I know many of the others do include one, but they then have loads of people who also have issues since it is not properly setup. About the black interiors, then the last person who had that, had his load order wrong, and hence did not have the ELE settings enabled inside the interiors. This was a BOSS load order issue that should have been fixed though. But my guess is that it is the reason for this as well. Specifically alternate start would be my first guess... that mod alters so many cells, that it would conflict with any lighting mod.
  12. Okay I have to ask... what is LOS ? I cannot recall that atm. :( Would be very interested in knowing what it is and why it has issues with my ENB. Would probably help explain why some people report weird CTD´s etc when using it as well, Thanks! :) Also you should try to use the CoT Weather patch... Original CoT has so many issues and bugs, and ENB only make them more apparent.
  13. Have you made sure that the game is actually using the Nvidia card when you play and not the intel one ? Seems to be a common problem with laptops these days.
  14. Try 512Mb for the first one. And set the other to either 8Gb or 10Gb (Values in Mb ofc). Your system should be able to handle that. For systems with large amounts of RAM this fixes much of the stuttering. Let me know how that works out.
  15. In more general terms this highlights the general issue MO has with post processing utilities. Or in general anything that needs to be placed in the skyrim folder rather then the data folder. If that was implemented in MO then I think it would be possible to see more installers of this type working more smoothly. Heck many people still manage to get confused when they have to install SKSE. Still down the road then it would be epic to get most of the visual customizer options just ingame. Makes any tweaking so much easier. And you would not need any MCM stuff for that, the code in the hook would automatically be able to update the shaders with the new settings in real time. At least as long as we are only taking color correction, and not adding in new effects. That said then yeah, their installer is sleek and nicely done, but still for the people who know what they are doing an optional with just the textures and .esp´s would be more then enough. It would not require much maintenance, since if someone is stupid enough to download a manual version instead of the installer, and they just started to learning about modding.... well then that person would most likely mess something up regardless. And they are there. This shows rather quickly by just taking a quick glance over at the RCRN support forum. There are people who do not even run BOSS and then comes with issues where they blame the installer since it does not do everything for them. This was also part of what I meant with my initial criticism of the installer... it is so well done that you get the impression that it does it all for you. Hence when you run into basic modding issues (like running BOSS) then you get really confused really fast.
  16. In this case, your system specs are more vital then your load order.
  17. I am entirely certain that this will be the new best example of STEP being nit picking on stuff! lol But I admire your passion for the mushroom stew Z!.... and you just made me hungry! dammit!
  18. Thank you for this detailed work keithinhanoi! Rather impressive! I am sure it will help some people get it working. But in general I also think it highlights the issue with the installer of RCRN. It was just not designed for the way MO does things, and most new mod users are most likely going to see this and run away screaming! And since MO is getting more and more popular every day then I guess it is an issue that will have to be handled at some point. The main reason to have an installer is ease of install after all, but this is clearly not easy! :) In an ideal world the customizer (The post processing parts at any rate!) would be an ingame menu, like ENB has (I fully expect that aLaaa and Co. have this on the pipeline down the road!), and the mod itself installed as a FOMOD. I also hope there will come an elegant way to install folders and files to the skyrim dir from inside MO in the future. Would be a natural way to expand upon its functionality, and remove the last real need for manual install. Or the RCRN developers figure out a nice way to adjust their installer around this whole thing, and create an MO version of it. I have seen enough creative solutions to many issues this past week so would not be surprised if that happens!
  19. Uhhh new landscapes...guess it is about time I update them! On this side of things. I am sadly the kind of person who like what ENB does to water.. mostly. I need my caustics! It is just a way too epic effect! But well that can always be implemented on top! I think your water vid looks great, but then again I think most water mods look great when looking at it from that angle. Would be really interested in seeing it on shallow water, and some different places etc. As for your landscapes, then I think the images and video looked very nice. Recently what I have noticed I would like is a much better worked wood texture for just about everything. The one I have now just stands out slightly with my ENB settings. Also gonna need to look for a new one for certain rocky ones inside interiors. But that is a different story. Looking forward to seeing what you cook up in the future! Always love more epic textures!
  20. Grass is only affected by ambient lighting sadly.... part of the meh of the engine. Altering the saturation levels of individual textures might also help out. That is about all that I have found out can be done to it!
  21. I use Lorkhans as well.... simply the best fantasy sky around these parts. I use the least saturated version..... mainly because I do not want a freaky color show in my skies.... too scify for my tastes. (auroras not withstanding) I still prefer the default moon actually..... it is really well done imo. His looks a bit too polished, and bright. I prefer the more gritty look of the default.
  22. Thanks for that WilliamImm, would most likely solve quite a few. About the fish. As I recall then even in vanilla this is an issue. I forgot all the specifics about it, there was a long debate on the ENB forums when water was being optimized a few months back. It is also an issue for a few other items in the water at various locations. But tweaking the settings should lessen the issue if I recall correctly. But again since water is so texture dependent, then I have not really played around with it in depth (Yes I had too). Finally. No rush EAB! There will probably be quite a few changes done over the next few weeks as people find god knows how many horrible bugs and issues I never thought of!
  23. Yay another fan! Ego tripping aside! I doubt that many other ENB´s are this easy to configure since they have so many options! I have decided to remove anything I do not actively use. Also setup the enbeffect.fx shader so it is easy to add it in if you want. With respect to nights then that was one of the "bonuses" of disabling certain of the default skyrim shaders. Like the default CoT night levels use to make stuff darker. Now you can configure it easily in a number of ways using just the GUI... hence you do not have to go in and out of game and mess with files! About your questions: 1: You can use any file you want! You just need to copy in the enbeffectprepass.fx file and enable the DoF in the EFFECTS section of the enbseries.ini. And voila. The only way in which it will affect the ENB is in terms of performance. The higher the quality of it, the more FPS it drains! Another reason why I just left it out. Along with the fact that people have really different opinions on how it should be done to look great. 2: ELE imagespaces are the current best work that ensures a continuity across skyrim that the default ones just cannot match. Hence you will not have as many issues with having one interior look epic, and the next one like a cartoon. Sadly I have not been able to disable all the shaders responsible... so stuff like image space contrast, saturation and color tint, will still apply. But since JawZ is a wizard of epic proportions with this stuff, I now do not have a reason too. You can use other image space mods, but you might have to alter the interior saturation levels at the very least. Especially the ELFX enhancer, is quite colorful, but the default settings should look... decent with it. Essentially if people do not use what I recommend, then the best I can do is offer advice on how to tweak so it looks nice. Perhaps down the road if someone makes some changes that works better with for example the enhancer, then I do not mind hosting an optional file for it with full credits etc. As for the ILS issues... then you need to make sure the load order is correct with it. It should not be possible for the mod itself to cause ILS´s since it only alters lighting templates and imagespaces. It does not add anything into the game.
  24. Glad that you like the visuals, and the performance! If you have 60+ you can just crank up some quality. Some nicer shadows or water is always good.
  25. fgamma=1.0 If you want it brighter or darker then use the ingame GUI and adjust the Exposure Scale to your liking. (You need to open the Shaders window, and then it is under enbeffect.fx.... near the top.) There is one for both day night and interior. The default value is set so that gamma should be compatible with most monitors out there.
