Delete the .bsa and .esp from your data dir manually, and then do not reverify the game using steam ? I would think that would be the most easy way to do it.
-
Unless you want to do some texture editing then you have to use 2.0 to get those. I would not say it is not recommended to just use as it is though... just be aware that there is a performance hit and some minor glitches here and there.
-
SFO 2.0 is still in alpha, hence issues with the LOD etc is to be expected. No harm in trying it out. It does work very nicely with most ENB´s this time around since the overall saturations levels are in check on most textures.

Well I am starting to look over the armor textures as well! But I imagine those will take a while longer to get down... since again, have to get a decent idea. But for now I am just doing the ground work for the armor so that I can get on it rather quickly when I do get the idea.

Should I trust WB's choice of mods to merge leveled lists from?
Aiyen replied to Clouddistrictcitizen's question in Wrye Bash Support
You can always manually verify that everything from a given mod is included in the bashed patch... sometimes they are not and you have to add the items to a global patch to make them go into the bashed one. As I recall then SRLE have a few of these issues in its conflict resolution you could use as a guide line. -
You get the learning experience from it which is probably the most vital! Like you said earlier.. it would be nice if we here on the STEP staff have more texturing knowhow! :) Everything we learn now can be used in the future...the programs may change, but the overall principles and basic features will remain the same. In relation to the texture.. then yes.. dirt should not be in the diffuse, or normal, or in any of them really.. it should be a tint mask which is applied on top of the textures instead! The real tick other then the color and tones, is getting those small details on the skin that prevents it from looking like a barbie doll... human skin have lots of features that make it not look super smooth etc. At least I am not a fan of skin textures that look like the person had a laser surgery that removed all features from the top of the skin.

Okay since I did not want to start a new topic... Here is the first release version of my daedric weapon retexture https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58470/? Again it should be fairly lore freindly, and most of the issues should be ironed out... I have uploaded only a 4k and 2k version.... I really do not feel like 1k is even worth it these days. Too much quality loss, and more work for me. Only issue that remains is a normal map issue with the sword based models... Oh well enjoy!
-
Well it really depends on the diffuse. Since vanilla does not have proper SSS implemented then it never looks quite so "red/tan". However due to the color of skin then when you apply SSS on top then it becomes more red/brown since the pixels gets amplified by the effect. I have had great success by adjusting the saturation of the diffuse by tiny amounts to help compensate. Ofc. one can also alter the SSS values which might be easier. Overall if we end up advocating an ENB I do think we should have a specific set of SSS, and Water values since those do depend on which textures you use, and cannot be universally good... only universally decent.

Tried removing ENBoost from the equation, CTD'ed.
Aiyen replied to Halde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Well to make sure that it is not memory related etc. then just a simple speedrun stress test Open the console in the main menu and type coc riverwood tgm player.setav speedmult 500 Run past falkreath to markarth and then to solitude followed by... somewhere else on the other side of the map. You should do it three or four times and not get any CTD before at least solitude. Also you can ask any ENB related questions in the support forum. It would have to be really technical for you not to get an answer here. -
Guess getting out into the sun really helped the girl get that tan she always wanted! I would take a look at the navel as well as the other stuff... it really does look off to me. Still quite a few tone issues on the body, but that might get sorted out with a new specular. Other then that then I would need some more up close and personal shots to really be nitpicky about it.

Aiyen replied to Halde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
Find a preset you like and ask how to optimize its performance then. ENB is very modular and it is just silly to drop one you might like due to performance reasons, since that can always be mostly fixed rather easily. Anyways... if the issue is not reproduceable and does not happen often (every 15 mins or less) then it could just be a random skyrim CTD.. which can happen even in a vanilla game. As for the bashed patch.. you always should have one and only one on your list. Essentially you can think about it like this You got mod A that adds items to a chest, and mod B that adds other items to the same chest. Without a bashed patch only the mod last in the load order would contribute items to the chest. By using the bashed patch both mods contribute their items to the chest. The reason that mod requires you use a bashed patch is because it adds new spells and needs to add them to chests, and vendors etc. So simply update your bashed patch and return to playing. -

Aiyen replied to Halde's question in General Skyrim LE Support
ENBoost does not affect FPS directly. It only helps reduce stuttering etc while loading assets and allows you to run with more stuff then otherwise. So if you CTD with just a STEP core installation (You do not specificy which STEP guide you followed) without ENBoost then something is most likely not setup properly since that should function even without ENBoost. -

Did you try to lower the difficulty to lowest for that particular location? As I recall then fire dmg is essentially the same as magic damage which scales with difficulty. -
Welcome to the world of texturing... where it is easy to spot the bad things, but hard to get the idea for the solution! :) Lucky for you there are .... TONS of videos on how to do skin textures. Just expand your searches into modeling as well since they also tend to texture their bodies and faces. While most of them do have advanced programs that really help streamline the work flow then most of the basic principles can be carried over into photoshop. I know I learned a lot form just hearing people talk about how they work. And there are many more modeling then texturing tutorials around. Also you do not need to search specifically for skyrim, since you have access to pretty much everything on the character models/skin textures.
-
As long as ENB is on and SSS is enabled it will work. In general it will help provide the skin with the "red" tones that it needs to look natural. So far it is looking good.... I wont notice the stretching of details going on on the arms yet, and the general blur going on in the torso. ;)
-
Sadly for skyrim then normal objects you only have single channel specular maps (The alpha channel of the normal map). The specular color etc. is determined by the mesh settings, and can only be a single color with a single level of glossiness. However skin is a different beast since you have an entire texture worth of channels to play with hence you can do things with skin textures that you cannot do with any others. But yes, a good specular and normal map is in many ways more vital for the overall look then the diffuse texture.
-
Shine would be the realm of the specular map. For skin textures these are in _s.dds. For no shine simply put a black texture in there.

Diskeeper and Skyrim, questionable mix.
Aiyen replied to CovertSlinky's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Well it could be that the game simply does not get access to the resources it requires because it gets put on .... hold by that program. After all if just a single .nif file fails to load then the game will CTD. Also like Doubleyou says... in this day and age then it is really questionable if such utility software is even worth it. The lack of stutterings could also support this, since stuttering and micro stuttering is because the game is waiting for resources to load. In essence you are asking for too much data to be moved around relative to the available bandwidth in your computer. Using such software will reduce the overall bandwidth since the computer has to wait for it to perform its function before allowing other programs to get access. -

Ah okay then I guess I sort of misunderstood. Install over two runs, First install the main, then install the optional and select merge. After that then go to the mod folder and manually rename there. At least that is the way I do it and without any hassle. There should not be any overwrite conflicts since the files you need to rename to are unique and now present in the mod. Hope that clears it up unless I am just too tired and missing something entirely here! :) -
We always want more mod testers! I am sure you can get the fancy green badge as soon as one of the staff with the privileges see you want to "enlist". :)

Why do it that complicated? Simply install better males as described, then afterwards go to the mod folder via explorer and make a copy of the two files and rename them there, like you would any other file. -
Two posts above yours this was posted as a workaround for using any browser to view the report. It is just the manual way of doing it instead of having it automated.. in which case you need to have IE at least installed in order to get working.
-
It is a collection of 4k textures for use if you have meshes that have parallax enabled... IE parallax remastered etc. It also does contain some meshes for things that other mods have not touched. The description etc is really confusing and lacking, but long story short. If you download EVERYTHING then there is no double up on anything. Everything he makes he seems to put into a new folder and then upload. He does cover a rather large selection of textures by now, and they are super 4k quality without exception. Essentially this is for screenarchers only.. it is not really meant for playing. I use a few of his textures here and there, since some of them are vastly superior to what else is around... I do tend to downscale them to 2k though.

SKYRIMLE SOLVEIG - Skyrim Cinematic Sunglare by Gamwich
Aiyen replied to hellanios's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
There realized I had made a mistake and updated my initial post accordingly. Ofc. the sunglares work with procedual sun, it is just the sun.dds that does not! Sorry for any confusion! So to make it crystal clear: Sunglare.dds works fine but visuals will vary depending on ENB preset since it depends on the sun settings. Sun.dds does not work with procedual sun enabled. -

Aiyen replied to hellanios's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
You can just disable it if you prefer the old texture based sun. However it will also affect a few of the other effects since they rely on the increased precision in position that the procedual sun offers over the default sun.
