SKYRIMLE Badasstronachs by Ren - Enhanced Atronachs by Rengel
rootsrat posted a topic in Skyrim LE Mods
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49323 3 attronachs retextures from Rengel. I am not sure if I like these, judging by screenshots, but I'll check them out in game. There are no retextures for this in current STEP. -
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49543/ Again, from the author that I discovered today :) And again, I like it! It's a retexture of spriggans and matrons. The main file adds a new type of attronach to be summoned, but the retexture only is available in optionals. ::EDIT:: There are no retextures of these in current STEP. Compares:HRDLC(current STEP)->AMB(Book of Silence but not used in STEP)->Rens(replacer pack only) Spriggan front Spriggan face Spriggan back Spriggan Matron front Spriggan Matron face Spriggan Matron back

SKYRIMLE Wisp Mother HD Retexture - Quartz Atronach by Rengel
rootsrat posted a topic in Skyrim LE Mods
https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49747/? A retexture of wisp mother. The video below shows the effect. I really like it! [video=youtube]http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gnl4iejIZ3o The full version of this mod adds a new attronach for summoning (quartz), but the separate retexture only file is available in optionals. I'm yet to see it in game, so I'll report back. MOD TESTING Screen Compares -
Discussion thread: Rens HD Shrines by Rengel Wiki Link Fresh uload, so making a thread in case it gets by unnoticed. Which it shouldn't as the shrines look awesome on the screenshots. What's outstanding and unique about this mod is that the author made the retextures with certain premeditation, looking at each shrine separately. Details descriptions are on the modpage. For example: He's (or she) added a little green leaf floating on top of the water... I am sold to such an attention to detail, and kept to the lore! When I looked at the other mods by this author, I noticed we have never seen any of them, and they look really good! ::EDIT:: The normal textures (i.e. *_n.dds files - I think that's what they are, if I'm not right, someone correct me!) are not provided for Zenithar, Julianos and Dibella shrines, but I don't know what the implications are to be hones. Current STEP Shrines HD mod provides those however. Compares: Accepted for STEP:Extended 2.2.9

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/50324/? A retexture of Standing Stones, no explanation needed here, we all know VL series :) Not sure if this will be included in the All In One VL pack, so creating separate thread. Will need compares against Vanilla and current STEP (no mod in STEP mod to covers these currently, apart from a few moss dirt piles (SRO and Re-Defined Dungeons), but no actual stones). I will be able to make them early next week, Mon or Tue.

Bashed Patch in Overwrite Folder (clarifications)
rootsrat replied to TommyH's question in Mod Organizer Support
Every time you rebuild Bashed Patch, MO will place it in Overwrite folder. Anything that's in Overwrite folder will, yes, overwrite the ESPs and any folders of exactly same name from your MODS folder (it's where the mods are installed in MO, and the virtual Data folder is created out of it). The right pane is representation of that virtual Data folder, therefore the Bashed Patch you see in the right hand pane is the representation of the Bashed Patch from Overwrite folder. When you run WB from MO (via executable files) it will the build Bashed Patch and replace the one in Overwrite folder. As for Profiles - the easiest thing is to recreate Bashed Patch when you change the profile and intend to load a game from it. You can of course keep the Bashed Patch files per profile, but that's a bit tedious :) -
Is there a mod that... (Mod Detectives)

Splash of Rain lets you hear the rain when inside. That's the only one I know. -
Any program that needs to read the modlist HAS to be run from MO level. Otherwise it will be looking for mods in Skyrim\Data directory.
-
You need to run programs like BOSS and T5E through MO to be able to use them. Use 'add executable ' option in MO to add shortcuts to BOSS etc. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Yeah, I agree with SSL partially, about the fact that there isn't much that the world can do, YET. However, it isn't about the the decision if they should or shouldn't be in EU. It's all about the fact that the democratically elected government is allowing for brutal and totally NOT democratic, inhuman means to solve the conflict, changing the law on an ad hoc basis. That's what's worrying. If they continue to do so, then the world, maybe UN, certainly SHOULD react in some way, otherwise the slaughter will continue. Looking at the Syrian civil war escalation, and what the lack of reaction from the UN (the world, basically) led to (i.e. total chaos in which it's no longer possible to tell who the good guys are), that's not going to happen. This makes other countries partially responsible, in a way. Not the civilians, the ordinary people, you and me, but the governing bodies, the UN council etc. That's also what worries me a lot, that there is a "go ahead" for this kind of actions of governments against its people from the rest of the world, and no one's bothered, maybe apart from human right organisations, but they can't do much about it apart from raising awareness. The people that pull the strings need to learn emotional intelligence and empathy.

For future reference, please use spoiler tags for a long lists. Fixed it for ya above :)

I'm not sure if you're aware what's going on in Ukraine at the moment, but I am quite upset about it. Cut the long story short, Ukrainian government voted against joining EU, hundreds of thousands of people went out on the streets in protests. Then, Russia lowered gas prices for Ukraine and paid up some money to the government, so that they keep the decision and stick to Russia. There were clashes with the police, people died. They used real bullets instead of rubber ones. Against the law. The law was QUICKLY changed, on ad-hoc basis, to allow for usage of water cannons in below-zero-Celsius temperature (it was forbidden before). Special police forces called Berkut are kidnapping injured activists from hospitals, right from their beds, in front of shocked and terrorised doctors and nurses, taking them outside the city to secluded areas, breaking their limbs and leaving them naked in the freezing and snow. Some died. Some were inhumanly humiliated. Those special forces are filming it with their cellphones and uploading to YouTube for fun. It's unbelieveable that things like that can happen in a democratic, civilised country. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims. HOLD TIGHT IN THERE, UKRAINE!

Well, the basic rule is: if it's an update or an optional file (for example different colour for an armor mod), you install it and load it after the main mod. If it's a patch to resolve a conflict between 2 mods, you install it and load it after both mods. It all depends on what exactly the given patch does though

Always refer to mod description. 99% of the cases there are instructions how to install patches and optional files. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

DROPPED Intricate Spider Webs (by isoku)
rootsrat replied to stoppingby4now's topic in Skyrim LE Mods
Seriously, why don't you just install it in MO and see what is overwritten, then launch your game and go to any cave with spiders and check for yourself, then feed back? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk -
I have a suspicion that Safety Load has damaged my save somehow. No real proof, but I am almost certain that it corrupted it beyond any repair, even when I removed it, I was unable to play.

That's why you have STEP ;) Please refrain from direct use of NSFW words though.

Never trust Nexus screens :D Too many times I've seen very poor shots, where the stuff in game looked completely different. This will depend on the ENB you use and other mods. The mod authors tend to (and for the love of me I was never able to figure out WHY) take their screens in poorly lit areas, in complete darkness or using some weird ENB presets that do not reflect what you get in your own game. Again, this is another reason why STEP team tests all the mods before inclusion.
-
There are no conflicts that will affect your game in a negative way, but some mods provide better textures that the others and that is the exact reason they are installed in a particular order in the guide - and these are the "conflicts" in the STEP guide. In this case this mod provides more textures than the Super Realistic Ore one, hence it's installed FIRST to provide the relevant textures, but since ore textures are better in the other mod, it is being installed AFTER this mod, so that you get the best of both mods. That is exactly why our mod testers spend a lot of time comparing different mods before inclusion into the guide.

Is there a mod that... (Mod Detectives)
rootsrat replied to rootsrat's topic in General Skyrim LE Discussion & Support
Thanks! I forgot about this little gem. -
It did happen to me a few times in Whiterun as well, the first time you enter the city and Battleborn is supposed to be talking to Adrianne - a few time he wasn't there, and she just continued with the dialogue, as he was there, making pauses for his lines. It also happened once when Alrik's warriors appear for the first time talking to the guards about the missing woman - the guards were not there, and the two of them were again talking their dialogue, making pauses for the guards' lines. I presume it's some weird error, maybe too many scripts running and the game not able to load all the data or something like that. For the scenes I experienced, there was no disruption to the game, a there was nothing critical happening, the one-side conversation went one until it finished and everything went back to normal. I can see how this is a problem for Solitude and the execution scene though. Maybe try using the new Memory Patch 3.0? This should solve not-enough-memory related problems, so it theoretically fix stuff like that, if my understanding is correct.

I am not a papyrus expert, but some errors in your logs indicate the Birds mod. Try to remove that, and retest.

Until someone like Sheson or Boris magically hacks the DLL deep enough to allow for it...
